All those little squares are created by pin-weaving one-inch-wide strips of fabric. In this case, I used one print for all the vertical strips and 12 coordinating solids from Cherrywood as the horizontal strips. Once the weaving was complete, gold metallic knitting yarn was couched over the raw edges.

Embellishments include: machine-wrapped and hand-couched cords, rolled fabric and glass beads, sequins and sequin waste, and prismatic foil. The mask appliqués and shoulder trim are from Treasures of the Gypsy.
