Tabards

 

While looking for a pattern for use in the classroom when teaching embellished clothing techniques to people who had never made a garment, I remembered the tabard, popular in medieval times.

It can be easily fitted to nearly any size and shape, and all the work can be done on a flat surface.

This tabard has extended shoulders, and the base pattern used is by Judy Murrah in her book “More Jazz.”
