Individual Art Quilts Beadwork Beading as Appliqué Beaded Jewelry Journal Quilts River Stones Rocks and Water Shards Shattered Circles Small Treasures Vessels, Shrines, and Reliquaries

Larkin Jean Van Horn,
The Small Treasures Gallery

These pieces all measure 6½ inches square, mounted to an 8-inch square stretched canvas. The canvases were painted with black acrylic, then decorated with various metallic and irridescent paints. The quilts each feature a beaded medallion, the medallion is stitched through the canvas so the weight of the beads won't separate the quilted piece from the backing canvas. The hand-held photo below shows a group of them on display at Raven Rocks Gallery, Greenbank, Washington at their debut, 1 October 2010.
