Many cultures throughout history have worn symbolic pieces to ward off evil or illness; to insure luck or prosperity. I leave the interpretation of these talismans to the wearer.

Bead embroidery and peyote stitch with glass beads, carnelian seeds and drops, and a Sculpey III cabochon. Inspired by Menotti's “Amahl and the Night Visitors” where Caspar sings about his box and its many treasures, including carnelian “against all evil and envy.” It seemed an appropriate stone for a talisman. 2000 Bead embroidery and peyote stitch with glass beads, carnelian chips, dyed shell, and a Sculpey III cabochon.
